The following message is sent on behalf of Residence Life and Housing:

Dear Students,

As you are aware, during the first hours of the online room selection process on Tuesday, April 16, there were significant software technical difficulties.  When it was discovered that the software was experiencing difficulties, we immediately began discussions with our software vendor to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, this meant that many students were unable to select rooms during their assigned times or at any point afterwards.  The nature of the issue could not be remedied in a time frame conducive to continuing the process in a fair and equitable manner.  It was at that time the decision was made to suspend the process, reschedule selection, remedy the software issues, and ensure systemic equity for all students.

In analyzing the cause of the problems with our software vendor and WFU IS, we have identified the problems which were unrelated to any increases in the number of students because of the three-year residency requirement, and have put into place numerous changes in order to ensure a smooth, fair and equitable room selection process for all students.

The Room Selection Process will restart on Monday, April 22, and continue daily through the afternoon of Friday, April 26, with longer appointment times throughout the day and evening.

All students eligible to participate in room selection will be receiving a personal e-mail tomorrow morning, April 19, with their revised log-on time.  Students who selected a room and meal plan on Tuesday, April 16, will need to participate in the process again. All room and meal plan assignments selected on April 16 have been deleted.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve this issue.
