It’s another chilly day in W-S, but at least we do not have the kind of snow that our Wake families in the Northeast have had. Hoping you are all safe and warm despite the massive snowfall!
Just a few items on the agenda today – a couple of FYIs and a couple of opportunities. Dig in!
Spring Break – campus remains open
A few families have asked questions about whether campus closes for Spring Break, so I wanted to address that here. Campus does not close – it remains open.
We do, however, have a pretty high percentage of students who go other places during Spring Break, so there will be changes to things like campus dining venues and hours of operation, shuttle service, etc.
As I get more information about hours of operation, I will share them here.
Health and Safety Inspections in residential communities
Residence Life and Housing has shared that they will be doing health and safety inspections in our residential communities March 1-4. Staff will enter student rooms to perform inspections and routine maintenance; they will also lock windows.
Students have been advised not to have unauthorized items in their residences or have unsafe/unclean conditions in their spaces – so this weekend or next week would be a great time to clean up :)
Reminder: Face to Face on Thursday with Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster
Just a reminder that our student-led Face to Face event with Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster is coming up Thursday at 5 p.m. in Wait Chapel. This might be one of the only times your students will be able to have free and unfettered access to the thoughts of a former military leader at the highest levels who also served a presidential administration, and who was also deeply involved in national and international security, foreign policy, and leadership. I hope your students take advantage of this opportunity to hear from him.
Coach Dave Clawson offers insights into leadership development
The Business School and Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character (ACLC) recently hosted a virtual learning session with former football coach and ACLC Executive Affiliate, Dave Clawson, last week.
The event “provided insight into Clawson’s decades-long leadership journey. Participants were eager to discover what it takes to be a leader of character and integrity and to develop a proactive leadership approach.”
You can view the recording here.
