It is 66 and overcast as I write today’s Daily Deac. Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 72. Monday’s high is only supposed to be 40 degrees. So this feels appropriate to share:

Because some weeks are just like this :/

On to today’s news…

Additional summer job opportunities in Undergraduate Admissions

Yesterday I posted some summer job opportunities, and I just learned of some openings in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

Summer Forest Ambassador Positions

  • Giving admissions tours 5 days a week
  • 20-30 hours a week
  • HOUSING STIPEND PROVIDED
  • For Summer Session I, II, or both
  • No previous experience required

Part time Summer Tour Guide Positions

  • Giving a handful of tours each week
  • For Summer Session I, II, or both
  • No previous experience required

Both positions can be accessed through this link. Students, if you still have questions after reading the job descriptions on the previous link, please reach out to Jeremy Shearer, Assistant Dean of Admissions at shearej@wfu.edu.

Is your Deac interested in working in the sports industry?

If you have a Deac (or are a student) interested in working in the sports industry, encourage them to sign up for the inaugural Wake Forest Sports Business Summit on Saturday, Feb. 28. The organizers of the event describe it as follows:

“The Summit is a student-driven initiative shaping the future of the sports industry by bringing together innovators, executives, and aspiring leaders. Through immersive programming and high-impact conversations, the Summit will equip the next generation of sports business professionals to lead with insight, creativity and purpose, in line with Pro Humanitate. Free all to all students. Registration required.”

I took a look at the speaker lineup and it looks to have some very compelling sessions. So do encourage sports-business oriented students to register.

Miss the livestream of Founders Day? You can watch the recording (a little later)

By the time this Daily Deac hits your inboxes, Founders Day will either be over or close to over (it was scheduled today at 4 p.m. in Wait Chapel). If you were not able to watch the livestream, you can watch the recording of the event. Note that it may take a little while for the recording to be processed, particularly if Founders Day is still happening at 5 p.m. when the blog mails out to our subscribers.

The ceremony will feature the winning senior oration by Chase Clark (’26). You can view a recording of the Senior Colloquium (where Senior Oration finalists read their essays).
