Today we start out with a message about the stomach bug (boo!), but we will close with an absolutely gorgeous photostory (yay!) Here goes…
A message from Deacon Health about gastroenteritis (stomach bug)
This afternoon, the campus community received a message about gastroenteritis, aka the stomach bug. You can read the full message here.
If your student is sick, please encourage them to follow the health guidance in the email message and avoid unnecessary contact with others. For families with students in double rooms, the uncomfortable truth is that when one roommate develops a gastrointestinal illness, the other roommate has almost certainly already been exposed to the bug.
Final note: custodial staff do not clean individual students’ rooms, so if your student is ill, they may wish to schedule an Instacart or other grocery delivery with some cleaning/disinfecting supplies: wipes or cleaners with active ingredients that include hydrogen peroxide or hypochlorous acid (examples include Clorox, Lysol, Purell), as well as bland diet items they can eat in their room once their stomach is ready (think banana, rice, apple sauce, toast/crackers, etc.).
Temporary building closure ahead of Face to Face event tomorrow (11/6)
Students received a message today that in preparation for the Face to Face event with Mitt Romney in Wait Chapel tomorrow, the Divinity & Religious Studies Building and Wait Chapel will be closed and must be vacated for security checks at noon on Thursday, with secure entry available by 3 p.m. via the double doors/ADA entrance on the Lot P side.
Tickets are still available: students can claim a free ticket to the student-led conversation scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m.
Fall Finals care package (order by 11/8)
Don’t miss the chance to send your student a Fall Finals Care Package. It’s the perfect way to send love and encouragement during exam season. The deadline to order is November 8.
Fall in the Forest photostory
We always like to share whenever we have a new photostory, and this one is an especially beautiful one: Fall in the Forest. Check out this gorgeous drone shot of campus and the surrounding area (as always, click to enlarge):
