It rained a lot yesterday and is on and off raining this morning. Go ahead and get it out of your system now, Mother Nature, and bring us nice weather for Commencement on Monday 🙂

FWIW, I don’t take the forecast too seriously until maybe a day or two before any big event, because things can (and do) change. My family has a trip coming up after Commencement and the forecast for our trip has changed even from morning to night some days. So keep your eye on the forecast, P’25s, and be prepared for the weather, but don’t fret.

Graduation video

For all our P’25s out there, I hope you have seen this video about graduations past. It is from our official @wfuniversity Instagram account, and it has some of the highlights of recent graduations.

If this doesn’t get you in the spirit to celebrate your Deacs’ upcoming graduation, I don’t know what will 🙂 Can’t wait to celebrate the big day with you, P’25s!

And just an FYI, I will be working the Info Desk/lost and found, which will be at a table in the corner of the Quad between Reynolda and Kitchin. If you find yourself strolling the Quad at any point and want to stop by, I would love to meet Daily Deac-ers and say thank you for being with me throughout your student’s time here 🙂

Summer opportunities in the Business School

My good friends in the School of Business wanted families to be aware of a few of the summer opportunities that exist – both for graduating seniors and our ’26s-’28s. See the various options below.

What is your student doing this summer? Consider SportsBIZ

We hope they will consider SportsBIZ, an exciting and unique sports-business program that not only introduces students to the breadth of career opportunities in the multibillion-dollar sports industry and shares career insights from many sports industry leaders, but also provides students the opportunity to gain invaluable business knowledge through 8 business essential modules as well as a Case Competition.

SportsBIZ runs from Tuesday, July 8th through Friday, August 1st from 9:00 AM – 2:20 PM ET and is an incredibly efficient way for students to earn 6 credits during the summer from anywhere since it is offered online via Zoom.

Weekly message for P’29 families

It’s Tuesday, which means we have a new weekly message for our incoming P’29 families, which you can see on our new families’ email archive page. I also want to offer some troubleshooting for these weekly messages.

Some families say they are not seeing our weekly messages. If this happens to you, please search your gmail for “Weekly update” and/or any wfu.edu email addresses just to see if our message perhaps landed in another part of your inbox, such as your junk or spam folders.

It may also help to add parents@wfu.edu,  returns@wfu.edu,  and alumni@wfu.edu as contacts, so future communications will be recognized. If all else fails, you can talk to your Internet Service Provider to see if they can tweak your firewall settings to allow emails from wfu.edu to be received.
