It feels impossible that there is only one more Monday of regular classes after today. Classes end next Weds. April 29th and then we move into finals season.

The final exam schedule is available online, as is the Academic Services calendar, the go-to calendar for all important academic dates throughout the semester. If you have not bookmarked the Registrar’s calendars page, you should.

One more calendar that becomes important at this time of year is Residence Life and Housing’s calendar, which shows opening and closing dates for this academic year. They also have the 2026-27 dates out there. A note of caution on these calendars: if you are an incoming ’30 student or P’30 parent/family member, you will be able to see information about move-in dates for the incoming class on May 1, when the New Students and Families website goes live. Thank you for your patience until May 1st!

Now to today’s news…

President’s Ball photostory

The President’s Ball was this past Friday night, and it was a fun and festive event for all. The LJVM Coliseum, affectionately known as “the Joel” was transformed: our basketball court was made into a black and white checkered dance floor and there was music, dancing, and Wake Foresters dressed in their best finery. You can see the photostory here.

Jam for Janey photostory

Jam for Janey was this past Thursday. The 3-on-3 basketball tournament was formed in memory of Janey Thompson (’26), who passed away unexpectedly in her sophomore year.

“Combining two of her greatest passions, basketball and physics, this Wake Forest campus initiative aims to commemorate Janey and raise money to supplement the Ledford scholarship, with aspirations of raising enough money to create a Janey Thompson Physics Scholarship in her name. This year they raised $89,771.28.”

Congratulations to all who made Jam for Janey a success. You can view the photostory here.

Chase Clark (’26) Day in the Life photostory

As we approach Commencement, we always feature a Day in the Life of some of our graduating seniors. This time, we are featuring Chase Clark (’26). Chase is a double major in African-American studies and communication. She holds multiple scholarships, was the 2025 Homecoming Queen and 2026 Senior Oration winner, and was the 2026 Outstanding Student Leader of the Year winner.

See Chase’s photostory. Following graduation, Chase is headed to NYC to Tiffany and Co. to be their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion summer intern, then hopes to pursue a PhD in Black Studies.

Certification courses for Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor

I got an email last week about upcoming opportunities for students interested in becoming certified for fitness, and wanted to share it:

“Is your student interested in more professional experience with fitness? This summer is a great opportunity for them to learn from trained experts and take a first step in their fitness journey. Campus Rec offers Virtual ACE Preparatory Programs for Personal Training and Group Fitness, including the possibility of being hired on as staff member to our Fitness Team.

Students can find more information on the Personal Trainer Course, the Group Fitness Instructor Course, or students can email Dana Lopez at .”

The finish line is getting close, Deacs. YOU GOT THIS!
