UPDATE SUNDAY MORNING 12-2-12:

Wake Forest had originally announced plans to try and livestream the Lovefeast tonight (Sunday, December 2) at 8:00 pm Eastern.

Because of technical issues, WFU has had to cancel plans to livestream the Lovefeast.  We regret any inconvenience.

The Lovefeast will be taped in its entirety so you can view it; it just won’t be broadcast live. We will get details to you as soon as they are finalized.

——————–

The Lovefeast is this Sunday at 8 pm in Wait Chapel, and we hope that as many of your students as are interested will attend.  This is a wonderful Christmas celebration replete with carols, readings, a communal meal of a Moravian bun and coffee, and the lighting of beeswax candles person by person.  Mere words on a blog do not do justice to the beauty and loveliness of this event, so I hope you will visit the WFU News page that has an audio/photo slideshow of this stunning service.

And since our extended Deac family of parents and friends are all over the country and the world, this year we are trying to bring the proverbial mountain to you.  This year we are going to try to livestream the Lovefeast in real time so that you can be a virtual cyber participant.  So on Sunday at 8:00 pm (or a couple of minutes before), you can visit the Lovefeast livestream link.  If you prefer to see the URL for this (rather than go clicking the link, here it is: https://new.livestream.com/wfu/lovefeast2012.

Please note that this is an experiment for us, and while livestreaming has worked well in a test environment, we won’t know if there are any glitches until we go live on Sunday at 8 pm.  Please forgive us in advance if there are any technical difficulties!

We hope your students – and YOU – will be with us Sunday evening at 8 pm Eastern.  The Lovefeast is something incredibly special, and we hope to share it with you.
