Weekend Update – What’s Going On For Your Students

Is your student wondering what to do this weekend?  Our friends at Campus Life have compiled a list of all the things happening on campus, and your students can do anything from Capture the Flag in the library to winning $200 to seeing an internationally renowned artist.  Encourage your son or daughter to take a study break and try something new and have some fun!

Friday, January 14th

Student Union Coffeehouse
7:30pm
Campus Grounds in Taylor Hall
Milk and warm cookies will be served while you listen to your favorite on campus musical acts. Admission is free.

On the Edge
7:30pm
Brendle Recital Hall, Scales Fine Arts Center
Music faculty from Wake Forest, University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Winston-Salem State University will be performing works for voice, string quartet and string quintet. Admission is free.

Charlie St. Cloud
7 and 9:30pm
Pugh Auditorium in Benson University Center
Zac Efron stars in this feature film – check it out before it’s available on DVD. Admission is free.

Capture the Flag @ ZSR
9:00-11:00pm
Z. Smith Reynolds Library Atrium
The library becomes a playground in this game of Capture the Flag. It will be an epic battle of Black vs. Gold, so don’t miss out. Pizza will be provided and admission is free.

Saturday, January 15th

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Contact Volunteer Service Corps for more information on how to get involved with this event – full of fun and games for children in our local area. 

Thinkfast Game Show
7:00pm
Pugh Auditorium in Benson University Center
Compete or watch as students try to win Thinkfast – an exciting on campus game show. The winners will take home a $200 cash prize! Admission and participation is free.

Charlotte Bobcats vs. New Orleans Hornets

The Benson University Center ticket office is selling tickets for this exciting matchup. Don’t miss out on your chance to see Chris Paul, a former Demon Deacon and one of the NBA’s greatest players, in person. Tickets are only $20 for great lower level seating.

Men’s Basketball @ Virginia Tech

Sunday, January 16th

Martin Luther King Jr. Gospelfest 2011
4:00-6:00pm
Brendle Recital Hall, Scales Fine Arts Center
The 6th Annual MLK GospelFest will feature Tye Tribbett, an internationally renowned gospel artist, who recently released a new album. Admissions is free for college students.
