Wake Forest emergency alert systems will be tested on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Thursday, Oct. 17 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The tests are required to ensure that the University’s emergency notifications are operating properly. No action is required. Wake Forest police and the marketing and communications office will conduct the testing.

Emergency alert testing includes:

  • Text messages to your registered mobile phone number
  • Email notifications
  • Voice calls to your registered phone number
  • Alert messages on computers, laptops, the Wake Safe App and digital signage displays around campus
  • Social posts on the Wake Alert X and Facebook pages

The outdoor emergency alert system will also be tested.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. By regularly testing our emergency alert system, the University can better prepare to respond to emergencies and keep our campus community safe. Consider downloading the Wake Safe App to receive alerts and access safety resources on your mobile phone. If you have any questions or concerns about emergency alert testing, contact police@wfu.edu.

In addition to the testing procedures outlined above, emergency preparedness for members of the Wake Forest community requires each of us to review the University’s Emergency response, evacuation procedures and notification of immediate threat as posted on InsideWFU. If an actual emergency were to occur on the testing dates, the University would use numerous alert methods to inform the campus community.
