This message is sent on behalf of University Chaplain Tim Auman.

Dear Wake Forest faculty, staff, students and retired faculty and staff,

Come celebrate the warmth of the season with Wake Forest Lovefeast on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in Wait Chapel. Chapel doors open at 6 p.m., and the prelude begins at 6:40 p.m. Seating is limited.

Since it was first celebrated by students in 1965, the annual Wake Forest Lovefeast has become a cherished campus tradition. Each year, we gather for seasonal music, reflection and inspirational readings from campus leaders. The conclusion of the service is especially beautiful, as the collective light of hundreds of Moravian candles fills Wait Chapel. It’s a magical evening you won’t want to miss.

Lovefeast is a joyful gathering that allows us to pause and reflect on the gifts we enjoy as Wake Foresters. But we remain mindful that many in our community struggle with financial hardship. The Chaplain’s Emergency Fund was created to support faculty, staff and students who are facing personal financial crisis. The CEF serves employees on the Reynolda Campus, Wake Downtown and Graylyn, as well as contractual workers who are compensated by outside employers.

Giving is a simple joy of the season, and you can provide immediate financial relief for fellow Wake Foresters by making a gift to the Fund here. Wake Forest employees can donate through payroll deduction with a one-time or recurring gift. (On the payroll deduction form, in the Pledge Distribution section under “Other:” enter your gift amount and type “Chaplain’s Emergency Fund” next to “Designation.”) If you are a member of the Wake Forest community facing financial hardship, please visit this page to learn about applying for assistance.

Like our annual Lovefeast, supporting each other is a Wake Forest tradition. I feel privileged to be a part of this community, and I look forward to celebrating Lovefeast with you on Sunday, Dec. 3.

In peace,

Tim Auman
University Chaplain
