The following message was sent to residents of Deacon Place today.

——————

Good Morning –

We hope this message finds you well! We are writing with an update on a project that will take place at Deacon Place over the Winter Break. Work will be taking place in all apartments to bring the facility onto the Wake Forest network. This work will help improve the network experience including capability equivalent to the rest of Wake Forest’s other residence halls, better wireless coverage in your apartment, dedicated internet bandwidth, and secure access to all on-campus resources (e.g. library databases, Banner).

Project Timelines

  • Exterior work will begin the week of November 16, this may involve some noise/equipment but does not require entry into apartments.
  • Interior work will begin once students depart for the Winter Break.
  • Students approved to stay in place after November 24 need to be aware that contractors may be in their units between November 24 and December 13.

What do I need to do?

In order for this work to be completed, we need all residents to do the following:

  1. Remove ALL items from your closet, feel free to stack items on your bed.
  2. Ensure there is a clear path to your closet and your closet doors can open fully.

As always, please be sure to take anything of value with you. For more details on winter break departure, please visit our website.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I can be reached at mutodw@wfu.edu or 336-758-5185.

Best –
