The message below was sent to incoming students last week. We wanted all families to have this important information.


WELCOME TO WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY FROM MAIL SERVICES!

Below are the answers to some common questions we get about mail services here in The Forest. 

Where is the mail room (and Mail Services) located? Benson University Center (First Floor)

What are your hours of operation? Monday-Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM, Saturday: 11 AM to 3 PM, and closed on Sunday.

  • Mail Services will be open Saturday, August 17 from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday, August 24 from 10 AM to 5 PM

How do we contact mail services? The easiest way to reach us is via phone. Our general line is 336.758.1922; for package specific questions, you can reach us at 336.758.5281.Our website also has lots of information available at mailservices.wfu.edu.

What services does Mail Services provide? We provide a variety of services, including: P.O. Box Rentals; Packaging/Supplies; USPS Services; FedEx Shipping; Prepaid Mail/Returns For USPS, UPS, and FedEx; Free Mail Forwarding

How do I need to have mail/packages addressed when sending them to campus? Please use the format outlined below:

What is the process for package pick up?

  • Once your package is ready for pick up, you will receive a message from mail services. We recognize that other carriers may notify you when your package has been delivered to the University, you must wait until you get an email from us, as we need time to process your package first. 
  • Once notified, you will pick up your package from the locker banks located in Benson or from the Mail Services Office. Please pay attention to the details in your package notification.
  • Below are the instructions for access package lockers:
    • Find the correct locker bank – indicated in package notification. 
    • Scan QR Code from package notification. 
    • Sign for package on kiosk. 
    • Locker(s) will open. Be sure to check for multiple lockers and teach locker and to ensure you retrieve all packages.
      • Check for multiple lockers opening and be sure to check each locker fully. 
    • Close locker(s) after retrieving package/s

What about other deliveries such as flowers, cakes, groceries? Wake Forest does NOT allow deliveries directly to our residence halls. As such, these deliveries will come to Mail Services and go through our normal package process outlined above. 

What if I forget to claim a package? Any unclaimed packages will be returned to sender after 30 days. 

How do I access my P.O. Box? When you checked in, you should have received your mailbox key from our staff. If you did not receive your key, please come visit our office (Benson University Center, First Floor) beginning Monday, August 25. 

What if I lose my P.O. Box Key? Students will need to purchase a replacement key at a cost of $15.00. Mail Services staff will NOT check a mailbox for students in lieu of using a key. 

How long do I keep P.O. Box? Students who live on campus keep the same P.O. box every year until they transition to living off campus. Students studying abroad maintain their P.O. box and may contact Mail Services for forwarding of mail to another US address. If you would like to maintain your P.O. box once you move off campus, you may rent it for $73 per year. P.O. box keys should be returned directly to the mailroom when a student moves off campus or graduates. Do not return your mailbox keys to Residence Life and Housing.
