For the musical theatre fans in the group, I have been humming the Les Mis song “One Day More” in reference to the weather. After today, cooler temps are coming!

Workday Financials job aid and student training page

Last night was the second of two webinars about how third party payers will use Workday to pay tuition. Some of you have asked if we will post a recording of the webinar. We are not able to do so, because there is some proprietary info in the demo that we were not allowed to share. However, our Workday team has created this job aid that has links at the top of the doc on to how you access your third-party account (assuming your student granted you access) and how to manage student financials. It also has a helpful FAQ.

In addition, there is a robust student Workday training page that covers a wide variety of tasks your students may need during their time at Wake. I would recommend they bookmark it.

Fall fraternity recruitment (for upperclass students only)

I had been asked by our Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to share the following information:

“Registration for fall recruitment will open Monday, July 20, 2024. Only students with at least 12 college credit hours and a 2.5 cumulative GPA can participate.

  • Registration is closed on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024: Mandatory Orientation and Kick-Off (You cannot accept a bid if you do not attend/are not excused for missing the Recruitment Kickoff)
  • Tuesday, September 3, 2024: Chapters’ bid lists are due to the Interfraternity Council
  • Wednesday, September 4, 2024: Bid distribution”

If this pertains to your student, please feel free to share this info with them.

Reynolda Village Sidewalk Sale

I hope that you have discovered Reynolda Village, the charming little shopping and restaurant area just off of campus. It is filled with terrific little shops to browse and several very good little eateries. If you will be in town in a couple of weekends, or your student is here for Summer Session II, you might want to pop over there for the annual Sidewalk Sale:

“Don’t miss the Reynolda Village Annual Sidewalk Sale!  Saturday, July 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Hours vary by merchant.)  Support local while you enjoy all the deals at your favorite Reynolda Village merchants.”

WFU in the News: July 8-14

Last but certainly not least, for all who appreciate seeing where Wake Foresters are making news, I bring you the July 8-14 edition of WFU in the News.
