Wellbeing Center hours for summer/Campus Rec employment
Dining hours for summer
Wake Downtown and Bailey Park events
Today’s Daily Deac is for those of you whose students are here for Summer Session. Though we have a much smaller group of students with us, we do still have a lot going on here.
Wellbeing Center hours for summer/Campus Rec employment
Our Campus Rec website shows the hours for summer operations, including both the traditional gym and the pool hours.
As an aside, did you know that Campus Rec is one of the largest (if not the largest) student employers on campus? In order to offer all the intramurals, outdoor programs, aquatic programs, and gym/exercise options, it takes a big staff. Encourage your Deac to consider working for Campus Rec, either this summer or in the 2023-24 academic year.

Wake Downtown and Bailey Park events
I was at a training class for two days last week at Wake Downtown, our urban campus that we share with the School of Medicine. It was the most time I had spent at Wake Downtown, and the building is just fabulous. I see now why so many students like to go study there, because it is just a terrific space.
Students can get in with their Wake ID, and there are lots of bright and airy open spaces that they can use to study. There are also tables in the front courtyard (some in the sun, some shaded), as well as benches outdoors on the backside of the building.
Bailey Park is right next to Wake Downtown, and they have an Events website that shows things coming up in the park. Lots of food trucks and outdoor fitness classes to be had in the coming weeks that might be of interest. Your Deacs can take the Wake Downtown shuttle, even. Easy peasy.
