Information for international P’27 families about when their international first-year students must arrive for Orientation
I am out of the office today, so this is a pre-post.
I received an email last week from the Center for Immigration Services and Support (ISS) with some important logistical information for families of international students. I am sharing it below.
“Welcome to the Class of 2027! The Center for Immigration Services & Support (ISS) will host a required new international student orientation. All new international students are required to attend Connect@Wake from Saturday, August 19-Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Connect@Wake is the mandatory orientation for new undergraduate international students with F-1 or J-1 visa status who are attending Wake Forest University for the first time. International students must arrive on Saturday, August 19 between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
ISS will communicate details regarding visa status and the Connect@Wake schedule of activities to new international students through their WFU email account. Additional information will be added to the Connect@Wake website throughout the spring semester.
International students who have been admitted must log into their ISSDeacs account using their WFU email and password to apply for an I-20 or DS-2019. ISS looks forward to meeting our new class of international students.”
So international families should know that their students will get more details, but it will be important to note the start date and time if you are already trying to purchase airplane tickets for your new Deac’s orientation.
