Here’s a roundup of some of the items that have crossed my inbox in recent days.
The Office of Civic and Community Engagement(OCCE) is hosting a Day of Service on Friday, September 9th from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Students should RSVP to participate at the GivePulse link here. All students who RSVP will receive a link to sign up for the service placement of their choice. This Day of Service is a great example of living our Pro Humanitate (“for humanity”) motto!
Your Deacs will want to know about Wake Up Wednesday, which will be held tomorrow from 8:45-10 a.m. outside ZSR: “Kick off your Wednesday morning with free coffee & treats from Campus Life leadership at the table outside of ZSR Library. No strings attached, just enjoy!” Details on The Link. (Note that it is free coffee and treats while supplies last).
The Office of Residence Life and Housing sent the following message to students about upcoming health and safety inspections in the residence halls.
The Student Involvement Fair, which was supposed to take place from 3:30-6 today, is postponed due to rain in the forecast this afternoon. More info on the reschedule when I have it.
The LGBTQ+ Center has its Welcome Back Pizza Party TONIGHT from 5:15 – 7:00 pm in Benson 311 featuring Burke Street pizza (and more!), awesome community, and a chance to check out the updated LGBTQ+ Center. They would love to see lots of students there, so spread the word to your Deac if this would be of interest to them
Finally today for the news wonks like me :), we have the most recent edition of WFU in the News (Aug. 22-28 edition). This was my favorite story in there: Forbes magazine ranked Wake Forest University the top employer in North Carolina in its 2022 list of America’s Best Employers by State. Go Deacs!
