It’s the end of the week, and a beautiful day it is: high 60s/nearly 70, sunny, light breeze. Tomorrow will be much the same. With the exception of a little later in spring when all the flowers are in bloom, it doesn’t get much more perfect than this.

We did have an announcement today: that on-campus events can now include food and drink (so for student organizations who want to host events with food, they now can). Read the details here. Other campus and event protocols remain in place, including mandatory face masks indoors (it’s still a city-wide mandate).

Last night I attended the orientation session for the Sleepin’ Deacon Challenge, which is meant to help you learn more about sleep and practice steps to get better sleep. One of the recommendations is to avoid your electronic devices for an hour before bedtime (which feels impossible to me!)

As I thought about that particular challenge, I also thought more broadly – beyond just sleep – about other things that might be fun challenges. In that spirit, I offer the following activity that your Deacs may want to try (or you could do in your own home communities, with some modifications).  It’s a Bingo card 🙂

The goal is to get five spaces in a row – or all four corners plus the center free space, if you play that way.  This is just a smattering of things your Deacs might try to do this semester.

Do you think they are close to a Bingo?

Have a great weekend, Deac families!
