A few housing-related messages: the Office of Residence Life and Housing sent this message to students about card access issues earlier in the day; the issue has since been resolved.
University housing closes at 2 pm this Sunday, December 12th. As students complete their finals and prepare to head home for the Winter Break, they need to make sure to follow the appropriate processes to leave their residence halls; see details here. Please talk to your Deacs and make sure they are taking any valuables, needed medication, contacts/eyeglasses, etc. home with them. Students will not be able to get into their residential communities during the break, so they need to take everything they need with them.
If your Deac lives in University-sponsored housing in Deacon Station or the Crowne Apartments, they have the option to retain access to their housing for the Winter Break period (December 12 to January 8) for an additional charge, as that time period is outside of their housing contract. For students who do not wish to retain access over the break, they will need to return their keys by 2 pm on December 12th and can move back in January 8th when University housing reopens. See details.
Finally for today, it’s the holiday season, but there are some Grinches out in internet-land who are trying to ruin this festive time of year with new phishing scams. Here’s good info your students need to know.
Wishing your Deacs all good luck on finals – may they crush them all!
