The following message was sent to all students living in University-sponsored housing at Deacon Station or Crowne apartments from the Office of Residence Life and Housing

Hello  –

We hope this message finds you well! We’re writing to provide an update on Winter Break and your University-sponsored housing at the Crowne Properties or Deacon Station.

University housing closes for the Winter Break at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2021, and will reopen on Saturday, January 8, 2022. These are the dates reflected in your 2021-2022 Academic Year housing agreement and are the dates covered by the fall/spring charges ($6,216 each).

Students living in University-sponsored housing have the option to retain access to their housing for the Winter Break period (December 12 to January 8) if they wish. Students who stay in University-sponsored housing will be assessed an added charge of $750, since an extra month of housing falls outside of the 2021-2022 Academic Year housing agreement.

For students who want to retain access to their housing during Winter Break:

  • The $750 charge will be posted to your student account and be payable via DEAC. For assistance with payment or account questions, please contact Student Financial Services.
  • You will not be required to turn in your key.

For students who do not want to retain access to their housing during Winter Break:

  • Your apartment key must be returned to Residence Life and Housing in Angelou Hall before you leave for Winter Break. Please use the Angelou Hall entrance off the back parking lot to locate our office.
    • Our office hours are 8:30 – 1:00 and 2:00 – 5:00 Monday thru Friday.
    • If the office is closed, please use the Key Drop Box located outside our office door.
  • DO NOT return your keys to your apartment complex office.
  • Any student who does not return their key by 2 p.m. on December 12 will have the Winter Break Housing charge ($750) automatically added to their student account.
  • You will not be able to return to your apartment until January 8, 2022, when University housing reopens.
    • As you return to campus, you will pick up your keys. Further instructions will be emailed over the break.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at housing@wfu.edu.
