Lots of quick hit news to bring to you today, so let’s get right to it.

Got a few calls in the Call Center over the weekend and wanted to share those points:

With an increase in COVID cases on campus, there is more contact tracing. It is extremely important that students be honest in the contact tracing process, both about the people they have been in close contact with, and when that contact happened. Please reinforce to your Deacs that you must share all contacts.

Students cannot quarantine or isolate with other WFU students. They will receive instructions from University officials on quarantining or isolating if needed and must adhere to those guidelines.

Students at the quarantine hotels are given 3 meals a day as well as an extra snack at dinner they can eat later if they choose. For students who want/need more food, water, or other supplies, they can do one of two things: 1) order them via Instacart or Grubhub or grocery delivery (at their expense), or 2) can order through our grocery delivery service using their meal plans – to do this, see the Dining in the Fall page.

We know that there are students who want to vote and are in quarantine – we are working to see if there are any possibilities. Stay tuned.

We are hoping to have the outdoor-time back up and running at the hotels by middle of the week; we had to reevaluate safety protocol.

When students check in to the hotel, they are given information on how to contact WF staff working the hotels; the Google-able front desk numbers you find online are not operational right now, since only WFU students are in the hotels. Students with questions/needs can contact WF staff with the info given at check in. Families with questions/needs should contact the Call Center (M-F 10 am-3 pm Eastern at 336-758-7500). If the call center is closed and this is a time-sensitive issue, families can email getwell@wfu.edu for assistance.

In other news, our Campus Dining office is asking for families’ feedback:

Dining is a key component of campus life and feedback from all constituent groups is a critical aspect of our continuous improvement process.  This is the first time we are asking parents and families to join in the process. We strive to provide an experience that not only meets the nutritional needs or our students but provides exposure to a wide variety of culinary offerings, performance foods and to create places to make connections. Having a dining provider that meets or exceeds your expectations is important to Wake Forest. This link connects us to your opinions and feedback on our campus dining provider.  Please provide us the opportunity to hear your voice.

It’s Monday, which means for P’24s, we have a new Weekly Message for First Year Families (this week is about registration), and your ’24s received their Letters So Dear.

Many thanks to our students for working with the new Orange guidelines. Working together, I hope we are soon back where we want to be.
