Let’s take a break from some of the heavy news and focus on a couple of more fun things.

Campus Rec is exploring ways to keep students engaged remotely.  An avenue they are considering is eSports competition coordinated through intramurals. They want to gauge students’ level of interest and, for those who are interested, what their gaming preferences are.  To that end, they have created an eSports interest survey.  I hope your Deacs will take it.

Normally at this time of the year, the Wake ‘N Shake dance marathon is on everyone’s mind. Thankfully, our dedicated students are not stopping because of coronavirus, they are adapting and making it a virtual event:

This year, due to the unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances we are now facing, Wake ‘N Shake has been reimagined as an interactive, virtual event. On Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. EST, our student Directors, Executive Board, Dancers, and members of the WFU community will come together in the spirit of this year’s theme: Dare to Discover the Cure.

Students will share their videos on Instagram, so look for the hashtag #WakeNShake2020 and will tag @wfuwakenshake. So you will definitely want to stay tuned to your social media of choice and follow all the action. wake and shake guyThis is one of my all time favorite pictures of Wake ‘N Shake. I just love the expressions on their faces. At the end of this post, I’ll show you a sampling of pics from Wake ‘N Shakes past.

PS – one of the long running trends of the Daily Deac is to do an April Fools message. Normally I have a lot of fun with these and have taken pride in fooling you. Given the very serious nature of the times we are living in, this not the year for April Fools. But you are officially put on notice that I will be back and better than ever for April Fool’s 2021 😉
