Today is a continuation of yesterday: it’s all about opportunities. We’ll jump right in today with a correction to the Fall Involvement Fair date.
Fall Involvement Fair date changed due to weather: now Sept. 1
When I sent out yesterday’s Daily Deac touting the Fall Involvement Fair, I did not realize the date had been changed due to anticipated bad weather. The new date is September 1st; see updated flyer below.
Student Tour Guide application open to sophomores and juniors
For sophomores and juniors who want to share their love of Wake Forest with prospective students and families, this item is for you!
“The Tour Guide Application is officially open to current sophomores and juniors! This is a great opportunity to share your Wake Forest experience with prospective students and families, build your communication and leadership skills, and represent the university in a meaningful way. Applications close September 11th and questions can be directed to .”
WFU Charlotte/Internship semester applications due Sept. 15
We are just a few weeks away from the deadline to submit applications for the new WFU Charlotte Internship semester, and I wanted to give that a plug. Similar to our beloved Wake Washington program, WFU Charlotte will offer students not only academic coursework and credit but an internship experience – which may provide a significant leg up when searching for their first job post Wake Forest. Here are the details:
“Tailored specifically for sophomores and juniors from Applied Liberal Arts and Business disciplines, the semester bridges the gap between academic theory and professional practice.
The WFU/Charlotte: Undergraduate Internship Semester provdes an immersive study away experience in one of the nation’s premier, high-growth professional hubs and growing cultural meccas. This program is uniquely structured to connect high-achieving student talent to Charlotte’s professional landscape, fostering meaningful integration into organizational cultures and operations.
Students on this program are based at The Pearl, Charlotte’s first innovation district and home to a dedicated Wake Forest presence, where evening classes are held and taught by local faculty. Dedicated support is provided by on-site staff.
Deadline to apply is September 15; Students can apply here. Interested students can find more info at the WFU/Charlotte website. The program begins in January 2027.”
My colleagues at Wake Washington tell me that their students report an enormous increase in time management, professional development through their internship, and personal growth – all of which can help fuel their college-to-career pathway. Encourage interested Deacs to consider this Charlotte program.
