NC weather can be full of surprises. In terms of reopening today, we have a team that monitors weather, campus operations, and local operations, and a team that is in constant motion in these situations to keep our campus clear. Safety of our community is always top of mind. While the monitoring team reported that there was a chance of snow, that chance was small, virtually no accumulation. What we got this morning was certainly more than had been predicted. It was over by about 11 with the sun shining brightly immediately after.
Today is packed with meetings, so sharing just a few quick hits today.
A Snow Day in the Forest post
Some of my colleagues braved yesterday’s snow day to capture scenes of our snowy campus and how students were enjoying it. See the snow day post.
First-year Student Support
This week’s issue of WFU Should Know is being sent to students this afternoon. P’28 families should note that on February 17 of this week, our ’28s were emailed a brief, 6-question survey designed to provide insights into how first-year students are doing in The Forest. Please encourage your Class of 2028 Deacs to take the survey, which will be open until March 2.
It is so important to get a high response rate to these surveys, as the more students who answer, the better able we will be to understand how best to support them.
Founders Day
I have to get the Daily Deac posted early today, so I will have some recap of Founders Day tomorrow. You should be able to watch the recording on our Founders Day page.
