There’s no point in sugar coating it – today is just gross. It is 34 and drizzly as I type this, and the precipitation makes it feel even more cutting when you are outside. I imagine your Deacs are Not Amused. I know I am not.

Reminder – Meeting Challenges with a Growth Mindset workshop

Since the weather is so gross and I am admittedly cranky, it feels like a good time to remind that tomorrow our CLASS office is offering a workshop on Meeting Challenges with a Growth Mindset. With midterms coming up around the first week of March, this might be a very timely offering to help get students in the right mindset for any looming exams.

Wake Forest Law introduces new partnership with UNC Charlotte

This was an exciting headline that I saw on our website:

“Wake Forest Law is proud to share its new partnership with UNC Charlotte to advance access to legal education. Hear from Wake Forest Law Dean Andrew Klein and Dean of University College at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Teresa Petty as they discuss how this partnership will make a real impact.”

Wake Forest has a growing presence in Charlotte, so exciting times ahead.

Does your Deac have a Green Thumb?

Weather like today makes many of us long for spring. So it is very fortuitous that I got an email from our Office of Sustainability listserv today.

Calling all students who enjoy gardening – or those who haven’t tried it before but are interested in learning. Connect and Cultivate Campus Garden volunteer hours begin on March 4th, they meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays (5-6 p.m.) and Sundays (3-4 p.m.) and continue until the end of the semester.

This is a terrific opportunity for students to get out in nature, meet a smaller group of students and potentially make friends, and give something back.

So if this might be something your Deacs might enjoy, encourage them to get their hands dirty! And if this isn’t their jam, but they might be interested in other projects related to sustainability, they can see other offerings.

That’s all I have for y’all today. Stay warm and dry, Deacs!
