- Homecoming date announced
Today was another jam packed day, so we are jumping right into today’s news. Here goes!
Ask Andy: Career Chats available for students
I have two new offerings from the OPCD to report on. The first of which is the new Ask Andy: Career Chats:
“Feeling stuck about your career path or job search? Drop into an open Q&A with Andy Chan, Vice President, Personal and Career Development, to get real answers and smart advice for your future. The next Ask Andy Career Chat is on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 12-1 in the OPCD Innovation Station (230 Reynolda Hall).”
Hope this will be of use to our Deacs in the job search. And one more below:
Investment Banking Internship Workshop for First-Years and Sophomores
There is also a new Investment Banking Internship Workshop for First-Years and Sophomores:
“In response to first-year and sophomore students wanting to learn about the investment banking recruiting process and the resources available, Andy Chan will host an Investment Banking Internship Workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the OPCD Innovation Station (230 Reynolda Hall).”
My sense is that this workshop is suitable for all first-year and sophomore students, but might be especially helpful to those who were not able to join the Pre-Wall Street Career Track course.
If either or both of these new OPCS offerings would be helpful to your Deacs, please share.
Just for Seniors: Out of the Forest
For any of our P’25s in the Daily Deacdom, this came to my Inbox yesterday and am passing it on:
“Seniors! Are you starting to think about what comes next in your Life After Wake? We have a special Year One 101 Workshop Series just for you. Starting February 18, come join Out of the Forest, Alumni Engagement, and the Alumni Personal & Career Development Center to talk about the transition from college to life and work after college, using your strengths for post-grad success, managing finances,* finding resources and community, and making the most of your life as an alumnus (with free swag!). Registration is required and these will fill up so grab your spot early! Food will be provided.
*There are two separate finance sessions. You only need to sign up for one.”
Please encourage your ’25 soon-to-be graduates to register!
Homecoming date announced
I am an alumna of Wake Forest (twice over!) and received an email announcing Homecoming weekend. It reads in part:
“Is Homecoming & Reunion Weekend on your 2025 bingo card? If it’s not, then it should be! Fire up those group chats, reconnect on Facebook, dial up those phone trees, and start making your plans to return to Winston-Salem the weekend of October 24-26….
If your Wake Forest undergraduate year ends in a 0 or 5, it’s time for your class reunion. If you would like to help contact classmates and serve on your reunion committee, please contact our team by emailing reunion@wfu.edu.
We also look forward to welcoming back Law alumni for Law Alumni Weekend. Email lawalum@wfu.edu to volunteer for your class reunion.
Registration will open late summer.“
So mark your calendars and plan to join us for Homecoming!
