Your Deacs ought to go outside right now

Days like today are why I decided to apply only to colleges in the South, and not anywhere near suburban Philadelphia where I grew up. It’s 70 degrees and sunny, the flowers are out, and it is absolutely beautiful.

If your Deacs haven’t already left for Spring Break, I would urge them to stop whatever they are doing and go outside and take a long, leisurely walk around campus. Not a get-your-heartrate-up exercise walk, but a stroll. A meander. A wander.

Our students are often so busy, they might not be taking the time to notice this little patch of blooming flowers. Or how the sun hits this or that part of campus. Or just sit on one of the many benches or chairs on campus and just chill for a few. This day is made for that sort of thing. May your Deacs give themselves the gift of leisurely enjoying this beautiful day.

OK – now to real news 🙂

Commencement ticket information

Yesterday, undergraduate students who are eligible to graduate received a message about how to order Commencement tickets. Today, we sent a message to the families of those students eligible to graduate, which you can read here. I am told graduate and professional school students eligible to graduate will receive Commencement ticket ordering instructions within the next two weeks.

We will have additional info about Commencement closer to April, but wanted to share with you the information that has been sent out to date.

Reminder of Spring Break Hours of Operation

If your Deacs are staying on campus, they will want to see the Hours of Operation page and make note of changes to dining, transportation, and other services, and plan ahead for their needs.
