This afternoon we had a big announcement from President Wente and Provost Gillespie: “We write to share the news that on January 1, 2023, Dean Jonathan Lee Walton will assume the presidency of Princeton Theological Seminary. Dean Walton, a social ethicist whose scholarship focuses on evangelical Christianity and its relationship to mass media and political culture, earned his MDiv and PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary.” You can read the full announcement here. Dean Walton has been a tremendous presence on our campus, and we are grateful to him for all the ways he has made Wake Forest a better place. While I am sad to see him leave, I thank him for all his contributions here.
