News you can use, Deac families: this fall, there will be a new clear bag policy for our football stadium and the Joel. You and your Deacs should read the full story, but here are some highlights:

“Wake Forest University will institute a clear bag policy for all events at BB&T Field and the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum starting with Wake Forest’s home opening game against Towson on September 8.

Fans will be permitted to enter with a clear bag that does not exceed 12” in height by 6” in depth by 12” in width. A simple one gallon clear plastic bag, such as a Ziploc bag or similar, is acceptable.

Fans will be allowed to carry in a small clutch bag, approximately the size of a hand or 4.5” by 6.5”, with or without a handle or strap.

The policy will help enhance existing security measures and ensure a safe environment for all guests while making for a quicker entry into the venues. The policy will be in effect for all athletic contests and concerts as well as special events.”

Was up on the Quad today for a meeting and saw that the front of Reynolda was all fenced off, which means they must be doing some sort of work at that entrance. Since we are T-minus 21 days until the start of school, we’re moving into the lightning round of all campus improvements and maintenance so we are ready to welcome the Class of 2022. We can’t wait to see you, new Deacs anReynolda Hall getting some work before students move ind P’22s!
