New Year’s Resolution: one hour at the OPCD

As your students return from break, one thing to consider encouraging is for them to plan to make time for the OPCD (Office of Personal and Career Development).  The OPCD career web site has buttons for each grade year with suggested action items and things your students can do.

While the OPCD will help students at any point in their WFU tenure, obviously it works best when you invest some time over a period of years to maximize the benefits you can get from the OPCD.

I tell my advisees “take just one hour each month and do something with the OPCD – either in person or via their web site.”  I waited until senior year to think about a job, and when my plan fell through, I really had to scramble.

So plan now for success later!
