The Office of Communications and External Relations sent the following message to the campus community on Monday morning, February 11.

The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a Feb. 10 home invasion in which two unidentified armed men robbed a Wake Forest University student and another person in the 100 block of Rosedale Circle. Neither victim was injured. 

The University Police Department is assisting in the investigation of the robbery, which occurred at 10:45 p.m. at a privately owned rental residence adjacent to the northwestern section of campus. The robbers forced their way into the house when someone answered a knock at the door and opened it.Once inside, the intruders took cash and other items, including small electronics. 

The men were described as wearing ski masks, dark clothing and gloves. Both held handguns. One was described as approximately six feet tall, the other slightly shorter. 

The University Police Department recently increased patrols of the northwestern area of campus by officers in police vehicles and increased foot patrol by security officers in the area.
