The University Police Department distributed  a Wake Alert text message at 4:45 p.m. today, April 15.

The message read: “Severe weather warning issued. Monitor local weather reports on radio and TV for further information. Possible 70 mph winds and hail 1 inch in diameter.  Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms.  Remain alert.  Severe thunderstorm warning.”
