The following information was sent to students in quarantine and isolation at the quarantine hotels on 10/26 from Residence Life and Housing

Good afternoon,

While in quarantine students will still be able to request an absentee ballot. To request to receive a mail-in absentee ballot for the 2020 election, a North Carolina registered voter will follow the steps outlined below. Please note that the deadline to request an absentee ballot in North Carolina is tomorrow, October 27. For students who plan to vote in another state, reach out to your local Board of Elections.

  • Absentee Ballot Request forms are available at the hotel. Email getwell@wfu.edu and we will deliver one to your room.

    • You must be registered in North Carolina to receive an absentee ballot. Please note that Wake Forest students are not eligible to register to vote online.

  • Section 1: Voter Information

    • First and last name.

  • Section 2: Voter Identification

    • NC Drivers License or Last 4 of Social Security Number

  • Section 3: NC Residential Address

    • If you live ON campus, fill out this information under residential address:

      • WFU- [Name of Residence Hall]

      • Winston-Salem, NC 27109

      • County: Forsyth

    • If you live ON campus, fill out this under mailing address:

      • 1834 Wake Forest Road

      • PO Box [Insert Campus Box #]

      • Winston-Salem, NC 27109

    • If you live off campus or Deacon Place, list your address where you reside.

  • Section 5: Contact Information

    • While not required, it is highly recommended that this section be completed.

  • You must sign your ballot request form. You may use a pen (black ink), your finger, a stylus, or mouse for the signature. Electronic signatures (including DocuSign) are not acceptable.

  • Scan the request form utilizing the Notes App on iOS or Scannable. Save the document as a PDF. Email the completed form to absentee@forsyth.cc.

  • Absentee ballots and requests must be submitted by the voter, legal guardian, or close relative. Forms returned by any other person will not be processed.

The completed and signed request form must be received by the Forsyth County Board of Elections no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020.

A voter with an illness or physical disability may request after 5:00 PM on Tuesday by calling the Forsyth County Board of Elections at  (336) 703-2800 and requesting accommodations.
