The Offices of Residence Life and Housing, Student Health Services, and Facilities and Campus Services are continuing to work with a local pest management service and the Forsyth County Health Department to respond to the individuals affected with a light infestation of bed bugs. Starting Wednesday, September 1, specially-trained canine units will be inspecting every room on South Campus for potential bed bug issues. Students living on South Campus have been emailed instructions about these room inspections. Additional information about bed bugs and information about what students should do are available at the Residence Life and Housing web site. It is important to note that treatments are highly specialized and must be performed by trained pest control professionals. Bed bugs do not transmit human disease and, therefore, do not present a significant health risk.
