The following message was sent to students who will be moving in to University housing for the spring semester (after doing their fall semester at home/elsewhere/or are transfer students).

Good Evening –

We hope this message finds you well and wrapping up the fall semester strongly if you’re in courses! We know you are looking forward to being back on campus with us in the spring, and we are excited to have you back.

New Students:

Last week you received a message from our office indicating that your Spring 2021 housing assignment would be available tomorrow. As we continue our work towards preparing for the spring semester process, we have made the choice to delay releasing your assignments until Wednesday, January 6.

Please be assured that we DO have housing available for you. The reason for this change is for your benefit. We know there will be additional beds opening up as a result of students changing their plans for the spring, and we want to have the broadest possible set of room options from which to house you. We anticipate that we will know all vacancies by early January, and will release your housing assignments on the 6th.

Continuing Students:

Last week you received a message from our office indicating that the Spring 2021 housing selection process would take place next Monday, December 14. As we continue our work towards preparing for this process, we have made the choice to shift Spring 2021 housing selection to Wednesday, January 6.

Please be assured that we DO have housing available for you. The reason for this change in selection dates is for your benefit. We know there will be additional beds opening up as a result of students changing their plans for the spring, and we want you to have the broadest possible set of room options from which to choose. We anticipate that we will know all vacancies by early January, and will open housing selection to you on the 6th.

Selection will now take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. EST on January 6th. Your selection times and the room availability list will be posted no later than January 4; we will email you at your wfu.edu address when they are available.

Please note, the shift in this process will not impact the move-in date for students new to campus for the spring, which has been set for January 23. Additionally, this shift will not impact any pre-arrival expectations of the University which will be communicated in the coming weeks.

As we navigate operating our residential communities during a pandemic, we remain grateful for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at housing@wfu.edu.

Stay well and have a happy holiday season!

Best –
