Student Insurance: Enroll or Waive by Sept. 15 to avoid a charge
To ensure compliance with the University’s health insurance requirement, all students enrolled in at least one on-campus credit are charged for the student health insurance plan and have until September 15 to submit a waiver if they have alternative coverage that meets the University’s health insurance criteria.
Students who enroll in the Blue Cross Blue Shield NC – Student Blue plan can take advantage of zero-cost health care services at our on-campus clinic, Deacon Health. (X-rays and Specialty medication prescriptions may incur separate fees.) To compare your current coverage to the Student Blue plan benefits, please utilize our Benefits Comparison Tool.
If a student does not complete either the enrollment or waiver form by September 15, they will be automatically enrolled in the plan and will be responsible for the premium amount charged to their student account ($1,605 per semester), regardless of holding alternative coverage.
Please note that waiver and enrollment forms must be completed each year. Thank you so much for ensuring you are compliant.
