Spring Break Room Inspections
Students who live on campus will shortly receive the following email from Residence Life and Housing about residence hall inspections.

Residence Hall staff will be entering student rooms on March 9th from 7pm-10pm and March 10th after 8am as needed, for mid-semester inspections in preparation for Spring Break 2012.
Mid-Semester inspections involve a visual inspection of the student room to look for health and safety hazards/violations. These violations include but are not limited to unsafe extension cords (pg. 17), blocked pathway to and from door (pg. 20), improperly lofted beds(pg. 20), use of cinderblocks for lofting bed (pg. 26), excessive trash (pg. 19), items hung from ceiling tiles and grids (pg. 17), items hung from sprinkler heads/ smoke alarms (pg. 17), candles (pg. 19), storage of flammable items (pg. 18), unapproved appliances (pgs. 16-17) , storage and personal use of lounge furniture in your room assignment (pg. 20).
Please note that any of these violations will incur fines and this email notification should serve as an official warning about potential fines.

Your Residence Hall Staff will close and lock doors as they are done inspecting rooms/ apartments. Be sure to take your keys and student ID’s with you as you leave your rooms during Spring Break. Don’t forget to close/ lock your windows before departing for Spring Break.
