Spring Advising Period
The Office of Academic Advising shared the following information about the spring advising period for Fall 2013 classes. This schedule applies to students who have not yet declared a major.
————–
The Spring Advising Period is from Monday, March 18 – Thursday, March 28. Rounds of registration (i.e., for non-major classes) start the week of April 1. In the first round (April 1-7) lower-division students can register for up to 8 hours. In the second round (April 8 on), students can complete registration up to 17 hours.
Each student can register at any time after his/her assigned time and up to the closing time for each round. Registration times are set by completed credit hours and apply to both rounds of registration, so most first-year students will begin registering on Thursday of each week, although some will have earlier start times. (For any sophomores who have not declared a major, their registration times will typically start on Wednesday of each week, with a few having earlier start times.) Note that registration for summer school is available from March 18-April 19.
Please note:
- a student MUST meet with his/her academic adviser to obtain his/her PIN – this is a policy stated in the Bulletin and expected of both students and advisers;
- urge students to keep track of the form and their PIN!
In preparation for advising, academic advisers should contact their advisees to schedule individual advising times during the advising period. Students are encouraged to think about their fall schedule prior to the appointment, including doing such things as reviewing their degree evaluation and possibly (depending on their preference) meeting with their student adviser prior to the formal advising appointment.
