We encourage students to stay active while also being mindful of their surroundings—especially when off campus. Please take note of these safety reminders:

  • Jog or walk with a friend—There’s safety in numbers.
  • Wear reflective gear—Especially when out during low-light hours.
  • Use sidewalks and crosswalks—And never assume vehicles will stop.
  • Stay alert—Avoid distractions; use one earbud instead of two if listening to music.
  •  Stick to familiar, well-lit routes—Avoid isolated or poorly lit areas.
  •  Let someone know—Share your route and estimated return time with a friend.
