Housing Selection Wrap Up
The following message was sent to all continuing students (other than seniors) who have not yet selected housing.
Good Morning –
We hope this message finds you well and that you are having a good first week of spring!
As you know, our housing selection week ends today. As we begin wrapping up this phase of the process, we wanted to provide you some updates on what to expect this evening and moving forward:
Room Availability
- There are no single bedrooms remaining. All remaining spaces are double rooms.
- Note that only 39% of our rooms are single occupancy for the upcoming year. These rooms are typically selected quickly.
- All remaining spaces are non-suite spaces. This means that you can select a double room with one roommate and will share a living unit with other students.
- There are a limited number of suites with more than one double available; currently these are set to be selected by roommate groups of 2 people. If you have a roommate group wishing to select all the doubles within a space, please visit our Help Desk (see below).
Finding a Roommate
If you need assistance in finding a roommate, we encourage using the Housing Portal suggested roommates tool or contact our office at housing@wfu.edu and we can add you to our list of students looking for a roommate.
If You Do Not Select Housing this Round
Anyone with fewer than six semesters of housing credit who does not select housing by 10 a.m. tomorrow will automatically be shifted to the second round of housing selection. The second round of selection will take place on Tuesday, July 12.
About the Second Round
The Second Round of housing selection is a normal part of our assignments processes. As students’ plans continue to change into the summer, beds will become available for students to select from. Often these will be individual beds in a shared bedroom or a single room (if available) within a shared living unit. Students should not expect full living units (suite/apartment) to be available.
Selection times during the second round are based on your housing credits and selection time this week. Note that students may form roommate pairs, but groups larger than 2 are not allowed for the second round. Even those forming pairs need to be prepared to split and participate as individuals.
Students who do not select in the second round will be assigned housing by Residence Life and Housing.
Utilize our Help Desk
Our help desk will be open this evening from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. to answer any questions and help students explore their options. At this point in the process, we encourage visiting us in person (enter our office from the rear of Angelou Hall), but you may also call 336-758-5185 or email/google chat us at housing@wfu.edu for assistance.
If you have other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at housing@wfu.edu.
Best –
