Reward Offered Regarding Hit-and-Run Incident

The Office of Communications and External Relations sent the following email to the campus community this morning.

The University Police Department is offering a reward for information that results in identifying the vehicle, driver or passengers involved
in the December 8 hit-and-run incident on campus that injured Collen Brehm, an Aramark Campus Dining Services employee.

A light-colored vehicle struck Brehm as she attempted to walk across Wake Forest Road near Wait Chapel. A witness told police that a driver
and passengers were in the car, which initially slowed and then drove away after hitting Brehm.  At least one passenger was female, a witness told investigators.

The unidentified vehicle had pulled out of Parking Lot Q and turned onto Wake Forest Road when it hit Brehm.  Afterward, the vehicle was driven on Wake Forest Road toward the campus’s  University Parkway entrance.

Brehm was released from a hospital following treatment for her injuries.

Initially, University Police announced the vehicle appeared to be a white SUV, but investigators now are generally describing it as light colored and shaped similar to an SUV.

also use University Police’s Silent Witness web site. In order to receive the reward, the caller must provide information on how they may be contacted.
