Registration Updates
The following message was sent to incoming new students on July 19
—————–
Dear Class of 2025,
We recognize that during this registration period some students faced difficulty in registering for their needed classes. The College continues to make schedule adjustments, so we encourage you to continue to check the class schedule this week. Additionally, some seats might become available as students make adjustments to their schedules to accommodate their AP credits.
Some of you might see your AP credits updated on your WFU transcript now. We anticipate that we will continue to receive more scores from the College Board later this month and will process those as soon as we receive them.
If you took 2021 AP Exams: Per the College Board website, you should be able to view your 2021 AP scores July 21. If you have any AP scores that qualify you for AP credits based on our AP Policy and you are currently registered for those equivalent courses, you will need to take action as you cannot receive credit for the same course twice.
Option 1: Drop the equivalent course by following the directions on our How To page. See “Drop a Class”. If you do not drop the course and remain enrolled in the WFU course, you will lose your AP credit.
Option 2: If you desire to remain enrolled in the WFU course, you will need to connect with an Academic Counselor in the Office of Academic Advising (undergraduateadvising@wfu.edu) so that you are aware of the ramifications of rescinding your AP credit. After you are advised, if you still desire to rescind your AP credit, you will need to email registrar@wfu.edu affirming that you have connected with an Academic Counselor in the Office of Academic Advising and that you are aware that the decision to rescind AP credits is final. Once rescinded, you will not be able to have those credits reinstated.
We encourage all of you, regardless of whether you took 2021 AP exams or not, to review your Fall 2021 registration prior to submitting the Course Preference Survey (sent on July 9) that is due on Friday, July 23. You should note in the Course Preference Survey any classes that are still needed that you were not able to register for. The Office of Academic Advising will be reviewing each of your schedules and will work to make any necessary adjustments, if possible. Please continue to check your WFU email regularly, as you might receive emails or phone calls from the Office of Academic Advising as they review your schedule.
