The following information was sent from the Office of Parking and Transportation and is intended for students who will be moving in early in January (for sorority recruitment or other approved reasons).

—————

Enforcement

Parking rules will be in effect during the break. Off-campus permits can park on-campus until January 9th @ 8am, whether you have your permits on the vehicle yet or not. Students must registered and have permits on the vehicles by Friday, January 13th.

  • Students arriving early for Rush must park in General Lots, as faculty and staff have already returned to work.
  • If you are unloading: you can park in the parking lots near your dorm on campus, just long enough to unload. Park in a legal parking space with flashers on and be actively unloading. Please unload then move to legal student parking areas. Please wait to unpack after you move your car so others can get close to the buildings. We allow 1 hour for cars to load/unload on January 3rd and 4th.
  • Of course, no fire lanes, handicapped or parking in the roadway. Refrain from parking in Facilities or other reserved spaces, as our maintenance folks are going to be busy getting the buildings ready for the return of students.  Parked cars will be ticketed.

Vehicle Registration and Shuttles

  • Parking permits will be available online beginning January 3rd at 9am. Refer to the post about returning from abroad, if it applies to you. The instructions for ordering permits differ. After ordering online, permits can be picked up in our office immediately, during our business hours.
  • Permits must be picked up in our office and placed on the cars by January 13th. NO PERMITS WILL BE MAILED TO YOUR HOME OR YOUR PO BOX.
  • The shuttle will begin the night route to sophomore and freshman lots on Sunday, January 8th. All shuttles will resume their regular routes January 9h. Refer to the Winter Break shuttle schedules for exact times your shuttle will begin running.
  • If you need to register your vehicle or see the shuttle schedule, please go to our website at http://parking.wfu.edu/ and read the announcements posted. Your WFUID and your vehicle registration are required to pick up your permits.
