Students will develop skills in communication, data analysis, partner development, research, and project management. Full-time internships run from June 1 to July 31. Part-time opportunities are flexible and can be determined by the student’s schedule. Note: this program will complement the Summer Nonprofit Immersion Program, which will operate virtually this summer.
  2. Summer Research Collaborative (SRC) connects Wake Forest undergraduate students to civic research projects examining the impact of COVID-19 on Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. Students will conduct 8 weeks of research from June 8-July 31. All projects will take place virtually. The final deliverable will be a research report in coordination with a local non-profit.
  3. COVID-19 Oral History Project and Podcast: In partnership with the ZSR Library and MUSE Winston, students will work in teams to conduct oral history interviews. Students will preserve the experiences of Winston-Salem residents during the COVID-19 pandemic and archive histories in ZSR digital archives. In addition, students will develop and run a podcast to share interviews with the community.
  4. Virtual Summer Camps offer 8 1-week camps on various topics for rising 3rd- 8th graders who attend a public Winston Salem Forsyth County School. The camps will take place throughout the month of July and will provide interactive activities and lessons from WFU Students.
