Dear parents and families,

This morning, Wake Alert messages went out to students, faculty, and staff to alert them of an armed robbery on Long Drive, which is near campus and Deacon Place. No students were injured. Winston-Salem Police investigated the incident and announced that there was no continuing threat. An “all clear” message was sent to students, faculty and staff.

Our Family Communications Philosophy specifies that parents and families will be notified of incidents involving weapons, which is why you are receiving this message.

We have no additional details beyond what is in the messages below. However, be assured that Wake Forest, University Police, and Winston-Salem police are taking this very seriously and are investigating.

Both messages are posted on our Wake Alert website. If there are any future messages about this incident, those also will be posted on the Wake Alert site.
