LENS@Wake Forest is now accepting applications from rising high school juniors and seniors for our 2014 summer program.  I invite you to share the program information below with students, families, colleagues and other interested parties.

As the University’s flagship summer program for high school students, LENS@Wake Forest is a three-week summer experience that equips current high school students with an academic foundation necessary to become global citizens.  The 2014 academic theme is Global Sustainability.

The Experiential Classroom offers participants hands-on opportunities to explore scientific concepts underlying current issues of sustainability.  Living Labs allow participants to explore local businesses and industries incorporating principles of sustainability.  The Writing Seminar provides skills necessary to communicate with a broad range of audiences and introduces students to college-level writing.  Working in small groups, students partner with a community agency to research a sustainability-related need and put their knowledge into action through Service Learning Projects.  In addition to interactive learning, LENS offers a variety of fun activities to introduce the social life of college.

If you have a child or know a student who desires a meaningful way to gain academic and problem-solving skills while experiencing collegiate life, encourage them to apply now for LENS@Wake Forest:  LEARN. EXPERIENCE. NAVIGATE. SOLVE.  lens.wfu.edu/apply/

Rising high school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply.  Program dates for 2014 are June 23 – July 11.
