Students and parents should be aware of a number of procedural items about the winter break and requirements for parking, residence hall preparation, and more:

  • Parking: There are special instructions for students with cars on campus about where to park during the winter break: https://parents.wfu.edu/news/parking-instructions-for-winter-break/
  • Residence Hall Closing: Residence halls will close at 9 a.m. on December 12th and will reopen at 9 a.m. on January 8, 2011 (except for students returning for women’s recruitment).  All residents must vacate their rooms for the entire break period. All residence halls, apartments and houses will be closed and locked throughout the entire Winter Break period. Students will not be permitted back into their rooms during the break period, for any reason.
  • Preparing Dorm Rooms for Break: Residence Life and Housing has a web site with information about how to prepare rooms for winter break: http://www.wfu.edu/housing/processes/winter-break.html. Please be sure your students are aware of requirements regarding refrigerators, unplugging of electrical appliances, and more.
  • Women’s Sorority Recruitment: first year women interested in sorority recruitment will return to campus on January 4th.  Visit the Greek Life page (http://wakeforest.orgsync.com/org/wfugreek) or the Parents’ Page with information about women’s recruitment FAQ (https://parents.wfu.edu/news/womens-sorority-recruitment-faq/).
  • Library Hours: ‘Wake The Library’ is offering all night hours December 5-11. There are also all-night study rooms available in the Benson Center.
  • Holiday Shuttles to Airports: Information is available at the Benson Center web site: http://www.wfu.edu/benson/services/holidayshuttle.php
