The Student Health Service with Maxim Health is offering a flu vaccine clinic for students on October 26, 2010 from 10a – 6p, Benson 401 A & B.  Cost is $27.00 cash or check at time of clinic. 

If the student wishes to use Deacon Dollars or a credit card they may go to Benson Ticket office starting Monday Oct. 25 and purchase a ticket/voucher.  Present the voucher at the clinic. 

If the student has the WFU Student Blue Insurance (underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina), the cost of the vaccine will be covered by this plan — Students MUST bring their insurance card in order to receive this benefit. Maxim will also file other Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC policies & Aetna insurance for students if an insurance card is presented for these companies..

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) is recommending that everyone in the United States receive a vaccine to protect against influenza.

Please note:  The seasonal influenza vaccine for 2010 – 2011 WILL provide protection against H1N1 influenza as well as other common types of influenza expected during this winter’s influenza season.
