This is an update to a crime alert announced to students, faculty and staff on Aug. 31 through Wake Alert:

The Winston-Salem Police Department arrested a man in connection with an Aug. 31 incident in which a Wake Forest student reported being sexually assaulted at an off-campus private residence.

Winston-Salem police arrested the man on Sept. 4 and charged him with two misdemeanors—assault on a female and breaking and entering.  He was arrested following a Winston-Salem Police Department investigation.

The incident was reported at Wake Place Court, off University Parkway, near Wake Forest.
