Winston-Salem Police responded to a stabbing incident reported at 9:30 a.m. today, April 30, in Bailey Park near Wake Downtown. The victim was standing in front of the waterfall, and the suspect jumped from a vehicle and stabbed the victim in the shoulder. After the incident, the suspect fled the area in a black SUV.

There is no ongoing threat and no one from Wake Forest University is involved.

Emergency Blue Light Call Boxes are located throughout campus. Push the button once to speak with a dispatcher.

Telephone Boxes are located near some building entrances. Pick up the receiver and dial 911 to reach a dispatcher.
