Earlier this morning, Winston-Salem Police Department officers found the body of a 74-year-old man on campus near Polo Road and Martin Residence Hall. There is no foul play suspected and no Wake Forest students, faculty or staff were involved in the incident.

Because the incident occurred on campus, the University is providing an update to the campus community based on information provided by the Winston-Salem Police Department.

The Wake Forest community grieves with all those impacted by this tragic loss of life, and we invite any who feel affected to reach out and seek support.

Wake Forest offers a variety of support and counseling services for all students, faculty and staff. For counseling, students can reach the University Counseling Center at 336-758-5273 and faculty and staff can use the Employee Assistance Program by calling 336-716-5493.
